Just spent a lovely long weekend at the cottage. Weather wasn't super but it's always great to be at the cottage.
I had the chance to recharge and have a think about some ideas for the upcoming fall and holiday seasons at the store. We have some of the most beautiful Christmas tree decorations I have ever had the pleasure to have in the store coming this season. I am very excited to get the first trees ready for display ( don't worry it won't be happening for a while!). I also used "cottage inspiration" to devise window displays for the fall and holiday season - watch for them!
While I sat and made notes Dave was busily putting some finishing touches on the huge shed we have been building this summer. He wired it and installed some lights that, when lit at night, look like they were meant for a football stadium - super bright! You could find a dropped pin in there! He also managed to stack an incredible amount of wood for our winter visits ( should be good for about two years, I'd say).
Standing back and admiring the handiwork I got a neat idea - since the shed is new and mostly empty (except for the wood), wouldn't it be fun to "christen" it with a "dinner in the wood shed night"? I can see a big chandelier hanging from the rafters with a long table running down the centre of the shed all decked out in linen table cloths and fine china with lots of candles and a dirt floor! Kind of a refined versus rustic experience. We could have a hearty fall menu with squash soup, a roast of some description and lots of fall root veggies. And lots of wine to toast the harvest season! I love the idea. I think that he thinks I've lost it! What do you think?
Here's the shed.
